Authorities
The College authorities consist of the General Meeting held biannually, the Council, the Executive Board, and the Main Auditory Commission.
There are 32 members of the Council, including the Chairman, and 15 members of the General Meeting plus the Chairmen of the Regional Branches of the College.
Responsibilities of the Council:
1. To represent the College and act on its behalf.
2. To manage the College in accordance with its Bylaws and the General Meeting's resolutions.
3. To supervise the Regional Branches' work.
4. To resolve any contentious issues.
5. To supervise the financial activities of College, in accordance with the General Meeting's directives and make decisions on purchasing of the College's assets.
6. To appoint the Committees and approve their composition suggested by their Chairmen.
7. To set up the rules for electing the representatives for the General Meeting, regulations and internal instructions.
8. To apply for granting honorary membership.
9. To make the decisions on joining other associations and foreign organizations.
10. To hire and dismiss permanent employees.
11. To issue opinions on regulations and instructions concerning the main units of the College and approve the branches' Bylaws and the Board regulations.
12. To elaborate the rules and issue opinions concerning the family doctor education.
13. To establish the regulations and instructions on the business activities conducted by lower level authorities.
14. To establish the regulations and deal with the current issues.
15. To fulfil its duties taking into account the legal personality of the College.
16. To establish the rules for authorization of regional Boards to execute their activities.
The current fourth term of the Board will end in 2009.
